So my usual Veteran's Day ritual is to hit the range with patriotic rifles (my 03, Garand, etc.) But, starting last year my son and I did a little early morning pheasant hunting. It's great now that he's out of college he has more time to do things.

Well, pheasant season has been sort of disappointing this year. Often times we got skunked, which never happens where we hunt. We'll usually get at least 1, and certainly we'll see or hear birds.

Anyhow, we went out early on Veteran's Day, and finally hit a good day

We got three! The funny thing is, we did the same thing last Vet's Day, and limited. Maybe something about Veteran's Day? In addition to having my son, my other boy was with us. He's 12, and I seriously wonder how many more seasons he has left. He's deaf, and I worry about losing him. Thank you to Elkhunter here on the forum, who graciously sent me a beeper collar to help keep tabs on him.

And, I made it to the range later, around noon, for the usual salute

Good for you, great way to spend the day.
Followed your thread a while back about your dog, glad it all worked out.

We had nothing here.
There was a short ceremony at Punch Bowl on TV.
Other than that, nothing.
Very sad.
I guess "Veteran Lives Don't Matter" here.
Even the cemeteries didn't have to many flags and flowers.
