Oh, that's an easy one.
You start with either .25 Remington or .30 Remington.:p

Or, starting with new or once fired .30-30 Winchester brass: using a lathe, turn the rim off and cut an extractor groove.
Size that in a 32 Remington full length resizing die.
Test those for feed and extraction then fire form into 32 Remington using the lowest published charge. Some would fill the case with cream of wheat or a light .32 bullet.

Or, just purchase brass from https://www.grafs.com/retail/catalog/search?keywords=.32+remington

Grumpa , former obsolete caliber brass transformer of castboolit fame made mine from 38-55 . 200 of them and they are beautiful. He’s now on the Range in the Sky but I’d bet it’s a good starting point.

Well the price to buy is definitely on the higher side, at a cost of $1.00 per casing.
Think I'll try the 30-30 route first as it appears to be cheaper.
Anyone have details on how to go about reshaping 30-30 into 32 rem?
All help is appreciated.

Do you have a lathe?
Once we determine that, the rest is possible

All I can say if you are adamantly against buying the proper brass, is to research Grumpa's posts. He posted a lot of good info on converting brass from one cartridge to another.

Going from my experience converting brass, if you can buy it, do so; especially if it is a cartridge you aren't going to shoot thousands of rounds annually.

Buy the correct brass if it is available. This is based on my experience making .303 Savage out of .30-30s. When PPU came out with the brass, I snapped up 200 with alacrity.

It is amazing how most people on this forum are penny wise and pound foolish. I have a 32 Remington. m 81. Purchased cases From Graf . Purchased 100 @ $49 per 50 . I guess Your Time is worthless. I know mine not

I would buy the Graf brass, if nothing else it has the correct headstamp.
If you just enjoy making something from something else that is different, have fun.
If that were the case you would probably not need to ask these questions.
I made some .577/450 Martini-Henry cases from 20 gauge hulls and copper tubing, just to see if I could.
Well I could and it worked but I no longer do it. If I need them now I form them from 24 gauge brass hulls.
Having at least a metal lathe is almost a necessity, I highly recommend acquiring one.

Amen. ^

And $1 a case is on the higher side compared to stuff you can pick up off the ground at the range for free, sure. But compared to a few cases I buy, they're not. And compared to a few I make, they're dirt cheap.

I pay a dollar a piece for brass and then have to form it and turn the necks and I count myself lucky. I have converted brass that was available but only in small quantities to see if proper brass became scarce if I could still feed that gun. I think there are a lot of cartridges that a dollar a piece for brass is normal.

All I can say is I once formed 7.65x53 from a batch of Military -06.
At the time the only brass available was Norma, and it was (still is) spendy.
Now it's available from Prvi Partizan.
Why bother forming when correct head stamp is available?

One day your time will be worthless. It just takes age. (If you're lucky!)

Adam20 thanks for the link, quite informative.
Did a search for "Grumpa" and got a lot of threads but all the info on how to make the brass has been erased and replaced by a note on his passing.
Good info though.

If you think $1.00 a case is pricey, I have a drilling which the only brass the case can be formed from is 9.3 X 82R. Over $4.00 pop...when you can get it.

Buy the brass from Graf's unless you're just looking for a project with your lathe, if you have one.

Beg, Borrow, buy or steal George C. Nonte Jr.'s book: "The home guide to cartridge conversions". It tells you all you want to know about what can be made from what.

Donnely's is also a good one. I haven't been able to locate Nonte's but, in fairness I haven't looked very hard since I got Donnely's.

Other than the title, there is little in common. Nonte talks about how and why. Donnely's book looks like a bad spreadsheet that someone forgot to finish.

A good "other" book is

bpimwheel--- I found 2 boxes of old once fired 32 REM. in my junk. You pay shipping, I send them to you.

I needed some 32rem several years ago, found someone helpful like rayh, then I purchased more from Graf. It's good to know that it can be made from 30-30 in a pinch but it just wasn't worth the trouble and testing when a reasonably priced option like Graf was available.
