I just got 100 Seaco 196 gr. TC GC cast bullets in the mail today. What would be a good starting subsonic load, I will be shooting these out of my CVA Scout V2 with a 16 1/2" barrel.

Somewhere around 12 gr Reloader 7 or 4198.

Thanks, Goofy, The only powders I have are 296, 4227, 3031. Will any of these work?

You have tons of latitude being a single shot!!

3031 is my powder with a 155g LEE super load.

I read people use 296... I dont like to down load this powder.

Do you have and Alliant shotgun powders?? Red, Green dot? Maybe Herco or Unique?

4227 is the ticket— I would start at 10.0. Hodgdon recommend 9.8 for the 208 AMAX.

I do have Unique, and thanks 1006!

I tried Unique with 5 and 6 grains with a 200 grain bullet and got right around 1000 and 1100 FPS respectively. I need to chrono 5.5 grains Unique but that it was I’ve been using lately.

Thanks for all the great replies. Looks like I better get to reloading. I just ordered a Competition Electronics ProChrono DLX. This should help dial in my loads.

I use 9.5 gr of 4227 under a 230 gr NOE bullet. Works good!

I've used W296 (H110) with 230 gr subs quite a bit. I don't have my loads in front of me, but yes, it is very doable.
