Time to go ever seas again. I may or may not be able to get on while I am gone. This is my last deployment. This one scares me. Heading to the desert.

Did I mention its the last one. Bad things always happen on the last rodeo. Kind of like a lobster dinner and ice cream social.

Doing my best not to psych myself out. Not sure if its the fear of the unknown or what. Lol time to find a new job. First time ever I have been afraid of a deployment. I am not adrenaline junky anymore. Well atleast now I know I am human. I retire in 2024 and I go to my finnal shore duty in November. I get back from this deployment and role into my shore duty in six months.

Yall be safe and do some hunting for me since I won't be here for deer season.

Lol doc gave me some pills and told me to pray and use rational thought to control my feer.

Dude, I went once, in 2004. I knew I was gonna ETS when I got back, and the closer we got to returning home, the more superstitious I became.

Your nervous because you hear all the stories about "It was the day before he went home". Your safer going overseas right now than living in a big city, lol.

Stay alert, stay aware, but don't worry so much you case yourself health problems. If your almost 20 years in, you know your job, just do it.

Seriously, I was so worried when I became 30 days short, i used to try to do things the same way everyday, and anything i thought was a bad omen would freak me out.

Your ok, you will be safe. Enjoy your last deployment with your brothers and sisters.

"Your safer going overseas right now than living in a big city, lol." This.

Three trips over including Desert Storm and truthfully, even though that was the one most "combat like" it was probably the one I was safest in, had a lot of guys around who had my back with some serious weaponry and fewer restrictions on employing it.

Remember, we have historically lost more guys to accidents and illnesses than to actual enemy actions so don't get complacent in the safer times.

Good luck, odds are in your favor, just do what is prudent.

Fair winds and following seas, my friend. If you need anything in the Jax area while gone, let me know. My son is at Mayport and he/we will be happy to help out on the homefront any way we can.

Be safe. Prayers up for all of you!

Almighty God, I pray for peace and protection in RC's life as he goes abroad to serve our country. May his country prove worthy of his service. Bless him and prosper him. In Jesus name I ask.

Look at it like it's just another Deployment. If you go over worried and fretful about it (if you're like me) you'll cause yourself a lot of grief and aggravation over a bunch of nothing. (Of course, it's easy for me to say this as I'm already retired and sitting here in my Lazy Boy) :) . I bet you're going over with a good bunch of people that have your back, the same as you have theirs. Plus, you are always in your loved ones thoughts and prayers.

Be alert, stay smart and the Lord will watch over you. Good luck to you - you'll be in all of our prayers. No. 1 said it best - if you need something, send a message. If No. 1 would act as your contact and then let others on here know that you need anything - I'm sure there are many here that would help. Stay safe and we all thank you for the job you do for all of us.

Walk in his light, keep your faith strong. Know that he loves you, has a plan for you.
I'll be praying that the bullets aimed your way all miss. Keep your head down.

Keep us informed if you get a chance.

Made it safe here. Flight was nerve wracking. Pit stop in Spain was nice and food was good. Welcome to the desert. Lol not much to see.. its not even sand. Its like white gravel every where.
