So sad. He was one of the greats and a true gentleman...

Sean Connery, the acclaimed actor who skyrocketed to fame for his iconic role as James Bond, has died, Fox News confirmed. He was 90.

The Scottish actor's family confirmed his death to Fox News in a statement via his rep.

"He died peacefully in his sleep surrounded by family," Connery's rep tells Fox News on behalf of his wife, Micheline Roquebrune, and his two sons, Jason and Stephane.

A private ceremony will be held, his family said, followed by a memorial yet to be planned once the coronavirus pandemic has ended.

Connery's death was first reported by BBC on Saturday. He died overnight in the Bahamas, where he was known to be living in his final years.

A fine actor and apparently a good and decent man.
Sad loss for the entertainment industry and his family, friends and fans.

Like so many others,, Sir Sean was THE James Bond to us here. And his career had so many good roles,, and his acting was always enjoyable. He will be missed. He's the kind of actor you could enjoy,, both on & off screen.
RIP Mr. Bond

Bond...James Bond.
Shaken, not stirred.
You wanna know how to get Capone? They pull a knife, you pull a gun. He sends one of yours to the hospital, you send one of his to the morgue.
He will be missed.
Seems all the good ones are leaving us.
What were left with is embarrassing.

When I grow a beard, SWMBO
says I look like Sean Connery
in the dark.
Married 40 years...
Just watched "Rising Sun"
she dug it. Got to trim the beard again.

Connery may have been an excellent actor, cryptic, and wry humour,
But he was not a friend of gun owners
I enjoyed his movies right up until he supported prohibition of firearms.
