Does anyone have any experience with heated jackets? Mrs. Thumbcocker gets cold pretty easily and I was thinking about getting her one. I know one of the bigger tool companies makes one but I forgot which one.

I interviewed for a job with a company in San Francisco that was about to market such jacket.
That company was financed with some of that throw away money during Obama's reign of waste.

My only experience is with heated motorcycle jackets. Those work ok but require a lighter plug in and 12 V.

They look nice, and I've been thinking about getting one myself. Personally, I'd get a vest or light coat and use it as an under garment under my usual hunting coats. I've seen them in person at the HVAC wholesale house I do business with. Milwaukee doesn't put their name on junk. I've priced them against other makers and they seem priced right also.
If you do end up getting one, write us a review.

The San Francisco people saw the heated jackets as skiing jackets with connections to charge your cell phone and to give a lap top a bit of a power boost. Pelosi's crowd would never connect them to work.

Where is San Francisco? And who is the Pelosi person you speak of?

I bought heated socks a few years ago for deer hunting. If I can keep my feet warm the rest of me stays warmer... I do have circulation issues in my legs and feet so they get cold easy.

my best friend is pretty crippled up. He broke his neck about 30 years ago and his whole back now is about toast. He said without his heated hunting suit he just couldnt hunt. He absolutely loves it

I’ve got the Milwaukee heated coat and while it works great the heated sweatshirt is better because you can layer over it and keep more of the heat in.

Your point is well made and quite accurate too. May God grant that everyone will be repeating it by mid February.

I bought a Dewalt heated jacket last year. On medium heat the 20v lithium ion battery will last about 6 hours. I am happy with it, $169 off ebay.

I got a pair of those socks for Christmas 40yrs or so ago. They used D Cell I think. Best thing ever, I could go Ice fishing in sneakers.
I'm interested in the Milwaukee Jacket as I was thinking of getting one for the better half as she is always cold

just ordered one of the Milwaukee sweatshirts yesterday. ordered an extra charger and 4 extra batteries. Seem my experience with battery tools is by the time you need new batterys if you only have two the tool is outdated and you cant even buy chargers or batteries anymore. total came to just over 200 bucks. Not bad. Ive spent more then that on a none heated hunting jacket more then once.

I have a Dewalt impact driver and drill but the Milwaukee jacket looks better for her use. Heated pockets. I did see adapters to use Dewalt batteries on Milwaukee tools so that could be an option.

Not a heated jacket but...

I built a 12 volt battery pack this summer. 3 litium batteries in a plastic ammo can with 4 toggle switches. Has 48 amp hours total.
Wired up a plug for a cigarette lighter socket.

Bought a 12 volt heated blanket from rural king for $18.
Gonna try it out next week. Should last at least12 hours of use.

I like my sweatshirt too. I guess i was expecting more heat out of it on high but im sure the heat will be more noticeable when its zero out.

Don't know if they would have batteries for coats but I've resurrected several Ryobi and Skill tools using BatteryMart. For anyone who hates throwing out cordless tools because the batteries or chargers are toast, aftermarket replacements might be available.

My dad has circulation issues and can't stand temps below 60 degrees. He bought a house in Yuma, AZ for $170k for the winter months. Seems a fancy jacket and socks would have been cheaper...

thanks for the link. I have an old skill cordless tool set that one battery died and one is getting lame. 40 bucks wasnt cheap for a battery but its cheaper then a new set and this set still works well and is my back up set.
