Anyone own one? Likes or dislikes? Thinking of picking one up just for the heck of it and using it on whitetails.

I havethught seriously about picking one up too.
I have a CVA Optima Elite in 7,,-08 I have been rather impressed with. Much better built and designed rifle than the old H&Rs.
I really don't see how you could go far wrong with one, .45-70 is dirt simple to load for and get good results from in my experience.

I did, great rifle and fun to shoot. Don't expect better than a 2" group at 100 yards and you'll be fine. The gun may be able to do better, but that was my experience.

Two dead deer in two seasons, I have no complaints. $200 got me into Iowa straight wall hunting with-out a divorce.
