New toy 1895 Trapper. Replaced sights with XS winged sights and rail, Vortex 2x7-33 scout scope, put a ww1 M1 Garand sling, wrapped the lever with 550 cord, replaced the safety with a saddle ring, the tooth is from a large hog my doughter and I got a few years back.

Depending on load, I will bet that is a Kicker
I know my 1895G is with my handloads of 385 gr cast at 1740fps even tho the G is ported.
Lately I got a 300 gr RCBS FN mold. That bullet shoots well and less recoil.
Still more than plenty for deer.

Finger hit 1 instead of 2 and I didn't see it but any way went to the range with good results. 75 yds and 4 shot group a little over a 1"

What rail did you get? I've really been thinking about taking the skinner sights off and putting a scope or red dot on. Can't decide so I haven't done anything yet other than shoot the irons but kinda want to do something different.

I made two mistakes with my 1895. The first was shaving the stock and forend down like an original. That removed a lot of surface area from the butt plate. Second when Ohio got rifle deer season I took off the reciever sight I’ve shot for 40 years and mounted a scope. Gun shoots excellent, always has and is outstanding for a 1895 Marlin. Got in woods with it and didn’t like the scope on it. Moral, make sure you want the scope before season. I’m back to my Lyman 66. Mine is doing about 1.25” at 100yds/ 5 shots with scope.
