Finally got to shoot a little at the range yesterday. Winds were5-15 mph but I had fun. I've never shot the Mosin at 200 yards before and had some loaded with 13.2 grains of Unique and Lyman 314299 powder coated and gas checked boolits sized to .312. It's nothing to write home about but I had a lot of fun and very little frustration. I think I'll dial it back some and start over at 50 yards.

Let me know what you use, might be able to use the info.

Good looking shooting. I don't have a local range with a 200 yard lane, that I can afford to shoot on. I would love the chance to shoot mine at 200. I have done very well at 100, even unsupported standing. I love these guns.

Awesome shooting. Mine is a tack driver with tula ammo. PPU and my hand loads it has about 5 inch spread.

Sold all my Mosin's, but when I had them 13.0 grs. of Red Dot and a 314299 sized/lubed at .314" always shot very well.

I want a Mosin and an SKS.

Thats not a bad group for 200 yards with such a mild load. Impressive and good job.

I have to confess using a very cheap 2x7 scope and bench resting, the remainder I'll need to work on. :Fire:

My Finn M39 [Sako rebuild] does this with the 314299 over 28.5 gr 4895 w/dacron filler in Norma NS'd cases at 100 and 200 yards. Was shooting the Arizona State match for score.

Here's 100 yards with my M91/30 sniper (original) with a 174 MK match load using both the PU scope and iron sights set on 100m shot at 100 yards.

I get results very similar to Larry's with my M39 Sako rebuild and PU scope with 30 grains of either IMR4064, RL15 or Varget with Accurate 31-215B and a

2695251" square of 1/4" thick Dacron quilt batting from the craft section at Walmart.

Thanks for chiming in Larry. My, or at least my receiver was of the sniper variety as the scope holes have been filled in. I was thinking of scoping it like the original but the prices are more than I paid for the rifle. My bolt is not turned down nor is the stock modified to take the scope and bolt. Both can be modified but hate to turn loose of that cash for the scope.

I tried 4895 with and w/o dacron and it wasn't as good as Unique. May try again.

In the meantime, I'm having a blast.

My scope mount goes where the rear sight is. No drilling or tapping. And it has a built in V notch for under 100 yards. I have a UTG Scout scope on it.

I was shooting my mosin at 900 yards this morning and 1000 this afternoon. Got straight on to target at all ranges, shot 300 and 600 yesterday, plenty of bulls and fours. This is a rifle with a seriously eroded bore for half it's length! Bullet is the 170gr. Privi in front of VV N140.

300 yard electronic scoring system screen shot for the mosin. The grid lines are one minute of angle spacing.

Did slightly better with the K31. This is screen shot at 300 yards.
