Several very old Primer Boxes (with primers in them)

I got these from a gentleman who passed recently that was a member at my gun club. He had some interesting stuff and I thought I'd share some photos of the primers he had. I tried to convince the family that this stuff was collectable but they just wanted it gone. So now I have them.

The Frankford Arsenal primers may be the odd size they made for their own brass. Somewhat smaller than a large pistol primer. I came across several hundred of those old hulls one time. I have an old L E Wilson trimmer with a lg pistol primer pocket cutter tool. Made especially to convert FA cases to standard lg pistol primer size. After 20 cases my fingers were raw from turning the knurled handle tool. Kept those and a few as original size, but too much trouble to rework.

Very neat find on those primers. And I thought I was doing good when I came up with a box of 1000 Winchester domed (not flat) faced lg pistol primers in the yellow box last week. Beats me by a mile.

Nice batch of early primers!

I've been trying to figure out a use for the Frankford Arsenal #27 primers as I have bunch of them. I may try to sell them on the Wards auction site if I don't come up with some other plan.

Always makes me a bit sad for the deceased when I hear comments like "We just want it gone" from family members. Usually means he was alone in his interests and the family just put up with it till he was gone.

They sort of did seem like they put up with it. I asked about the powder and the person who was the executer (sp?) said that the day she contacted me, she had removed and disposed of it.. Damn! I should have told her I'd have been happy to take the powder. I wondered what jewels of that he had. I asked about the firearms and she said the family had divvied them up among themselves. I also got a fair number of some oddball brass and ammo. The 218 Bee stuff was impressive, even had some old Mil ammo still in the original boxes. I'll see if I can take photos and post those also.

Nice, actually what I would call old...I was expecting CCI boxes from the 80s as "old".
