Looking for help identifying these bullets. I received a large quantity of these from a friends estate with no identification and would like to know what they are. I have searched all of the major mold manufacturers and not found any like it.

Specs:
44 Cal WC, 236 gr as sized and lubed, 3 rounded grease grooves with one crimp groove.

Thanks

Looks likes its from a H&G mold or clone of it.
They're .38 wadcutters look exactly like that.

I've seen a couple pictures of what looks like those.
They didn't come from the molds we would buy, but available from commercial cast boolit makers.

If they were hand cast like we do,
I'd think the lube would be in more grooves than just the middle one.

If the estate didn't include lead pots, other molds, etc.
I'd guess the old fella didn't cast, and bought them commercially.

He was an avid castor, but the estate sold everything through an auction house before anyone local found out about it. These were left overs stuck in a back corner of a shelf. I agree that they look like an H & G #50.

Can't a star lubesizer hit just the middle groove like that? That is rather peculiar.

Agree on the HG #50 appearance and seem to recall they made a 44 copy of it but dang if I remember the number.

Star sized could easily be set up to live single groove like that if so desired.

Too bad family didn’t let the rest of that stuff go to friends and family, hate seeing all that history lost to the folks it matters to. When I kick this mortal coil my wife is under strict instructions that all gun/loading/casting equipment is to be boxed up and stored for my son and daughter if they do choose to enjoy. Brother and his kids are the backup plan l so it all stays in the family. Nephew is already hoping he’ll get a crack at some of it. [emoji16]

I finally found a reference to an H & G mold #107 which is a 44 cal clone of the #50. The #107 does not show up on the H & G primary mold list. It is on a follow-on supplement. Here is the excerpt:

107 – 44 Caliber (.429) “A”, “B”, & “C” lengths were available. 107A = 245 grains, 107B = 185 grains, 107C 135 grains. Moulds marked “107” appear to be the 245 grain (“A”) version. Full wadcutter style mould observed numerous times on eBay. Shape appears to be identical to #50 but in 44 caliber instead of .38 caliber. Moulds observed were plain base, three grease grooves and small button tip like #50. Not on list from Wayne Gibbs. #107(b) – 44 (.429) Caliber Wadcutter, Short mold. Entry by T.D. Spring 2007. 107 appears in 1994 catalog.
