I just picked up my Shiloh Sharps that I ordered through Bill Goodman. It is a Business Rifle in .50-90 with a 30” heavy tapered round barrel, full buckhorn, semi-fancy walnut, steel shotgun butt plate, pewter forend tip and brass escutcheons. I took some quick pics inside with bad lighting and will get some better ones tomorrow if it isn’t raining. These pics don’t do the wood justice.

What a fine looking rifle. My Shiloh Business rifle (from Bill Goodman)was delivered to my FFL this week. I'm picking it up later today...can't wait. Thanks for sharing. Mine is very close to the same specs except for caliber, 45-70.

That's a fine rifle - you can't go wrong with a Shiloh. I've had one for over 30 years :-)

Very nice! So this would have been after the Sharp's carbine which cut off the end of the paper cartridge after loading? Any idea why it's called a "business rifle"?

The business rifle was the least expensive model to produce cause of the round barrel it was offered for the hide hunters who wanted the legendary sharps but didn't or couldn't afford the higher priced variations of the 1874 rifle. I've been trying to decided which barrel to order my shiloh #3 in either a standard weight 30" octagon or round 28" round business model barrel. I want a period correct .50-70 hide hunters rifle and either would be correct for that.

Yep that's not your average hide hunters rig. sweet looking walnut the sunlight makes the woodgrain really stand out. Are you going to use the 450 gr lyman bullet?

Just recieved one in that same configuration, but in .50-70 with a pack hardened action and an ebony pistol grip. Only standard wood though. Beautiful! https://www.cascity.com/forumhall/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=60723.0;attach=106 854;image;ts=1602259337

Bill Goodman is a firearms dealer in Montana. He always has several Shilohs of various configurations on order. He basically charges $200 over what Shiloh charges to cut the wait from years to months. When I ordered mine it would have been a 5 month wait til COVID shut them down for a little bit and it ended up taking 8 months. I have ordered 3 others through him and they all took anywhere from 2 months to 6 months. I have also bought several used Shilohs from him. Plus he is a great guy to boot. He will walk you through the order process and is extremely helpful.

May she shoot as purdy as she looks! Make a grown man a drool.

That color case hardening was really understated in dimmer lighting. It's absolutely gorgeous.

Pace, a simply gorgeous rifle. Given my experience with 3 Shiloh's since 1986 I expect it will shoot as good as it looks.

And that is their standard case colors and not the pack hardened. The only thing I think I would change is maybe a polished barrel. Maybe next time
