I cast .357 mag bullets. Have been online at my favorite suppliers for bullets, but can't find a darn thing... I am looking to buy a 30/30 bullet mold to pour my own bullets. I can't for the life of me figure out what diameter it needs to be. Would appreciate some help here for this old man....

30-30 = 30 cal --- size to .309 usually 150 FN or 170 FN

In the end, the slugged diameter of your barrel is the final determiner of your required diameter.

some barrel just like/need fatter boolits.

For an inexpensive start, the lee 150gr. FP works very well in my 336 sized .309. Gp

Check for diameter in your reloading manual. That's always been my "Go To" when trying to remember between calibers. And, don't forget to write it down in your own Reloader's Log Book for ease of use in the future.

Are you considering gas checked or standard bullets?

For the 30-30 you want .310-.311 boolits, especially if you are loading for a Marlin.

I recommend the Lyman 311-041, the RCBS 30-180 FN, or the Lee 30-150. These are all gas check designs which will allow you to shoot full velocity loads. They have all killed deer, and shoot pretty well.

Normally, I'm using a .310 in the pre-64 M94 Winnie. been up and down the scale but .310" seems to be the "sweet spot"./beagle
