Excellent - I can only wish I could scrimshaw like that (God knows I've tried enough times over the years, to no avail).

I have no idea how you created the artwork on the knife blade.
Is it all done with a hand tool?
I'd like to see it better.

Your level of craftsmanship is inspiring. Your work posted here is as good as I've seen and extremely nice.

The markings on the knife blade were a result of hammer forging the thickness to a taper. this was done to eliminate grinding a large amount of steel off. I just ground and sharpened the edge area. I'll try to get my son to take some close up pictures as he has possession of it.

I was able to see the blade much better with a magnifying glass.
At first I thought that it had scrimshaw, butt now I see that it's hand hammered steel which is also very nice.
