I have a Savage 110Y in .223. I'd like to know the twist rate and the heaviest bullet I can use and still get reasonable accuracy. Can of of y'all help me with this?
Thanks, fellas.

With the 1in9 twist that Savage uses you could go 60 or maybe 70 grn bullets. This is my guess , maybe someone else will chime in with more info soon .

I have a Sav. 110 in 223 with 1 in 9 twist and it does not like anything lighter than 60 gr. Have not tried 70 gr. yet but they should do well.

My friend's is 1 in 7. Shot pretty well out of the box with bullets as light as 55gr. 1 in 7 will shoot up to 90gr. Those bullets are like pencils.

This will muddy the water, and yes I did verify it is a 1/9, but I have an AR with a 9twist that likes 40 grain ballistic tips much better than 50's or 55's but likes the 60 grain partition too. Another upper with a 1/8 doesn't like anything lighter than 55 ballistic tips or at least shorter, but doesn't like anything heavier than the Sierra 65 grain. My CZ 452 Euro style model (with open sights) has a 1/12 and I can't shoot anything heavier than 50 grain very well. 40 to 50 shoots sub 1", but heavier, specially heavier and longer (like a b-tip or v-max) it makes it a 2"-3" gun.
BTW, I have come to really like Alliant reloder 10x for the 40 ballistic tip and v-max in the 223, haven't found a rifle that didn't like the combo, and nice velocity too.
