Traded into the Francotte some years ago, shot it some then (coated bullets using 30X221 data) and it has been languishing in the safe and is wanting to come out to play this winter using the proper BOOLITS.
I had called it a Martini, but was corrected and in my ignorance do not know the difference.

Could be a "One-Of" since it came fro the shop of an O F gunsmith (deceased at the time of my trade) from back in the day.
It was given to a friend of his for disposal before the GS's demise and the interim person knew NOTHING about it other than the GS had competed with it and the barrel was from a 308 gun the GS used in competition. He had turned it back in the 308 gun and rechambered it several times so the heavy barrel looks like termites had gotten to it where he drilled and taped it for Sights/scope blocks. That does not concern me.

Nuff history, now to the case dimensions
Diameter in front of the rim 0.378" (what else could it be?)
OAL 1.570"
Base to startof neck 1.58
Base to Neck 1.2
Neck 0.37

Essentially a rimed 30X221 with a LONG neck.

Named cartridge or OFs Gun Smith's "One Of"?

Any help identifying the cartridge would really be appreciated.

I have The Handloaders Guide to Cartridge Conversions. In there the 30-40 Wesson can be made from the 357 Max case.
The case length will be a bit short but works.
Case length 1.63
Base to shoulder 1.065
Shoulder diameter .377
Neck diameter .329
Neck length .436
Base diameter ahead of rim .381
Rim diameter .436
The specs you give, I'm not sure what they mean. Base to start of neck? Base to neck?
