Any interest in this as an idea? I would guess a 180 or 200 grain mod maybe with pins might have a public. Thoughts?

Definitely a need for this, but am wondering who is designing molds for GBs nowadays as I’ve only noticed repeats of earlier buys or reissued designs that mold makers have previously produced & had listed in their past lineups.

Since 350 Legend is a newer cartridge it would seem that a new design would best be drawn up by someone with experience like others have done in the past such as 45.2.1, BABore, or Glen Larsen (since it’s possible that nobody may available to do this as in the past).

Who would you approach to design this?

Just curious.

No idea. Frankly hadn't thought about it. Volunteers? Way beyond my skillset.

I sent a suggestion to LEE to design a 180 gr style for the Legend, I think there are four weight categories for the Legend, 150, 180, 200 and a real heavyweight for subs like 300 gr. A heavy for the sub would exceed what is available for the 300 BLK and be useful. Why shoot another 250 gr cast in the legend when you could go there witht the BLK? I resisted the legend at first because I wanted to make brass from 223 but quickly realized that having factory ammo for $10/box to get brass was way easier even though I like the brass forming process. A then cheap AR upper from Bear Creek Arsenal with a BCG got me in and it's been fun. We need more load data for the non-standard weights.

I would barrow some from what the 357 Max shooters suggest with a 180gr WFN for hunting. Mihec has the following .358 mold for coated 180WFP or could be a hollow point 165.

https://www.mp-molds.com/product/mp-c-358-165-rf-4-cavity-hollow-point-mold-multi-choice-no-lube-groove/

Also the RCBS .358 Sil 180gr is a classic among Max shooters and has a more rounded nose, that should function in an AR well

Why not use the old standby RCBS 35-200-FN, correctly sized to the gun?

Why not use the old standby RCBS 35-200-FN, correctly sized to the gun?

Or the Lee 6-cavity equivalent?

Recently picked up a Ruger American Predator 22” in .350 Legend, will be starting with a BRP 180 grain and the NOE copy of the RCBS 35-200, another that I know has been tried is the 180 grain designed by Glen Larsen - all of which have been successful in the .357 Max., of which I’ve liked the BRP 180 grain for deer & am looking forward to trying the RCBS 200 grainer knowing how well it’s worked out for someone I saw use it last summer in his .350 Legend with success.

This isn't a hunting boolit but is for 350 legend. https://noebulletmolds.com/site/product-category/358/357-190-rf-o6/

https://noebulletmolds.com/site/shop/358/360-182-wfn-u2/360-182-wfn-u2-2-cavity-pb/ 182gr WFN some say they have function problems in .357 lever action

If looking for a hunting mold maybe a rach dog take off that has a little more taper might function better in an AR than some of the wider flat nose. 177,191 & 232 grain https://noebulletmolds.com/site/shop/358/sc359-191-rf-ai3/sc359-190-rf-4-cavity-pb/

Down at the bottom of this page has a 9mm that is honcho'd by 2dogs. It is possibly going to be gas checked and I believe would be great for 350 Legend.

Changed original post as cirt7 has the link for the current 350 legend mold from NOE. It is currently sold out though.

There are actually quite a few good bullets that can be used depending on your desires.

For me, I got into the 357AR Max just before the 350L came out. As there were no over the counter AR-15 magazines, I had to deal with feeding issues that were more challenging than with the 350L.

For me, I wanted a meplat, but since I could not get good feeding with the Lee 200, I decided to go just a tad smaller with a custom NLG mold that I made myself. My efforts are discussed in the thread below starting at post 166.

http://castboolits.gunloads.com/showthread.php?387647-350-Legend-and-Cast-Boolits/page21

I am happy with using PC and a NLG mold. The slightly smaller meplat I chose for the mold gives better velocity retention and less wind drift at longer ranges. I expect it would work for hunting, but I do not hunt.

350L hunters might want a little bigger meplat. The Lee / RCBS 200s seem to work for the 350L even in the AR-15 platform and are a pretty good choice for this. And yes the previously mention NOE molds are all worth considering.

When you get to WFNs, the larger Meplat is more likely to result in feeding issues in more than a few guns.

357-190 RF why don't we just jump on NOE forum and 10 of us could have this one run as a production run, it would be easier that a normal group buy because we are only asking them to use tooling that they all ready have

I started a post on NOE forum in the inventory run section I think we can make it happen,
