Got a pitty this eve. Hope he turns out as sweet as my past one. He's a big kisser. I need to work on keeping him from jumping on folks though.

You just have to explain things to them.
When someone comes over, I tell newman, "OK buddy. Company is coming. I want you to show them your best dog manners".

And when they do something wrong, and you call them out on it,
They'll listen intently, then get a expression of: "Sorry Pop,,,, but look how cute I am".
You have to stay firm, and hold your ground.

Showed photo to wife and got a big “awwww”. Very adorable new friend. Hopefully he likes loud noises and can become a range/hunting companion.

Oh, he's a heartbreaker, for sure. Who could resist those eyes? Had a lot of dogs and tried all manner of training with them. Pure positive reinforcement has been the best for me. Enjoy him.

Yup he is a keeper. Good luck but I think I am a bit biased. Love dogs.

Thanks for all the nice replies. He was a friends dog. They are downsizing the herd. He's a year old. And is microchipped and lifetime license. Up to date with all his shots. They know i was missing my red nose pitty. And i was the 1st one they thought of to adopt him. I hope he's not gun shy. My red nose was terribly gun shy. She would run off and not come back for a long time. He has a lot of energy. I was playing fetch with him. I think he will love woods walks. When im ready for them. I disconnected my quadricep from my right knee. Getting it repaired the 28th. Them bringing him over made my day.
