I got a new Arsenal mold for .225. Of course it would not fit in the guides that are standard for the Lyman Mag 25 pot.

So I fabbed one up that should work well w/ the mold & thought you folks might like to look at what an old man can mess up. Using the expanded metal it shouldn't be too much of a heat sink for the mold (I think).

You should put those handles on the mold and save your fingers.

I've had trouble bending expanded steel in that direction due to the work hardening when expanding then flattening. How did you bend it?

Looks good!

Mal I have a small brake for sheet metal. First time I have used it in a long time.

Cool! I have the 3' Harbor Freight brake and it will do 16ga expanded lengthwise but not crosswise. Maybe I had the radius too tight.

I made shelves from the leftovers from making a belt guard. I love scrap!

N.O.E. makes one that fits the old RCBS Pro-Melt and the new Lyman Mag-25.
Works Great.

I just screwed a couple pieces of one-by to the base of my old furnace - no heat-sinking there!

Cool idea, I'm just afraid that any drips will build up in the expanded metal and soon you'll have a bump. You could cut a little hole in the section directly under the spout.
