I have been thinking (yeah i know its dangerous) about a 22 hornet case being wacked off to 1" with a 25 deg shoulder @25000 psi. If ya know something close to this before i have a reamer made id like to hear about it. The long snapper looks to be the closest to my idea. Thanks

The long snapper is close .040” longer and 5 more deg shoulder.

The .22 squirrel is a bit shorter as a .22 Hornet case with minimal taper in the body, about a 40 degree shoulder and a .250 long neck. Case length is .965.

I imagine the difference between the two or your wildcat would be hard to discern.

I ran across the squirrl while doing my research it was just a little short. I believe it and the 22 long snapper was the closest i found. I looked at so many i cant remember all of em

Is there a reason for choosing a 25 degree shoulder? A sharper angle would prevent case elongation better but then you are specifying a low pressure loading.

Anyway, I was going to suggest looking at the Taranah hornet but then I saw the case length is 1.239" and you want 1". The Taranah is basically a shortened k-hornet (long neck) to take longer 40-grain Nosler Ballistic Tip bullets and still work in a standard action.

Sounds a bit like re inventing the 297230 Morris. I have a mate who owns one and was so happy when I gifted him 42 rounds from my collection. I love that 22 squirrel round it would look nice in a Martini. Regards Stephen
