Win 94 scope mounts

Afternoon, just curious if anyone has used Dr Pearson’s no drill scope mounts for a model Winchester 94 , thinking about using one and wanted to ask around for opinions

Have not tried the Pearson base....yet. However, it appears to be well made and solid when mounted correctly.

If you get one i suggest being picky about the rings you get. The rings pictured on the web site are still too high. Weaver low tip off rings would have been a better choice with that scope. For best and most satisfactory use the scout scope ocular housing should be as low as possible to the rifle's front receiver ring.

i was looking at Dr Pearson’s no drill scope mounts for my m94 top eject but i went to williams fp sight. my eyes ain't what they were when i was a youn'un. if your using a m94 with older sights, you will notice that you will need 3 points of contact(rear sight, front sight and the target). i can't do three anymore, two points of contact(front sight and the target) is fine for me. the third point(williams fp sight) is needed but you or i never "see" it.

35/30-30 with older sights at 50 yards or was it 100 yards? but i'll say 50 yards.(i was fireforming)

these were all fired on a bench with sandbags.

my "idea" of a lever action is one without a scope. when my eyes got that bad, i was resigned to use a scope. but i remembered that a m16a2 rear sight was a peep sight(i was in the US Army). so i ordered a williams m94 fp sight and as you can see, the fp sight is accurate.

so once again, i've tricked my eyesight not to use a scope!!!!!!! hahaha!!!!!! but i will.......i will!!!!!!!

I have a Pearson mount on a 94 and absolutely love it! I progressed from a Williams Foolproof, until my eyes started giving me issues. Next I tried one of those Jerry rig side scope mounts(Gag, Puke) very briefly before going to the Pearson. It carries a Leupold/Gilmore(Gilmour?) Red Dot. The Pearson mounts the optic quite low, in my case too low. I tried two other red dots, the L/G was the only one that sat tall enough that I wasn't having to hunt for the dot. As it is now, look at an object, shoulder the rifle and the dot is sitting on whatever you were looking at.

I like to carry a 94 with my hand around the receiver just ahead of the lever with the barrel pointing down but still well clear of the ground. The Pearson mount has nothing in the way of doing that. The part of the extrusion that runs along the left side of the receiver was painfully sharp where my thumb grasped it, a few minutes with a fine file and a quick cover-up with a black marker took care of that.

The plan now, if I can ever find a strap ring(commonly mis-labeled a saddle ring)I want to add a bungee sling so I don't have to find a place to put the gun down to "answer the call."

I have an old Winny 94 I need to wring out and have been dreading doing it with the factory sights. I will look into getting Dr. Pearson's rail sight. If seems an elegant solution and not very expensive. Torn between a scout scope (hate the looks) or a dot sight (hate the look even more). At least the red dot would be lighter.

Hello Beechbum,

I purchased the Dr. Pearson’s no drill scope mounts for my model Winchester 94.
It isn't the prettiest mount I've seen, but totally functional without drilling & tapping.
Much nicer than the Side Mounts.
When it arrived I installed it, but the rings wouldn't seat properly.
I contacted Dr. Pearson with photo's of what was wrong and what needed to be done.
He went to his Machinist and they found they'd messed up on a batch.
He told me to either send it back for replacement or repair it (which is what I did) and refunded me my money.
I can't say anything more than he was terrific to work with.
