I have a box the old B.E.L.L. .43 Mauser/.43 Spanish basic brass. Can .44-77 be formed from it using a Lee .43 Spanish or .43 Mauser sizing die and .446 expander plug? Not really wanting to spend big bucks on a .44-77 die set for limited use. Any tips on doing it ? Thanks.

I have 43 Mauser dies that I bought to load 44-77 sharps. When I first picked up my rifle there wasn’t any brass available so I bought some loaded ammo for $$$$. After they were fired in my chamber I didn’t need to resize any of the cases.

One case for whatever reason wouldn’t chamber so I resized it completely in the 43 Mauser die and is chambers perfectly in my older Shiloh 44-77.

The only issue I can think of is rim thickness and diameter for 43 Spanish or Mauser, is it the same as 44-77? It seems each maker has a slightly different different rim. I would imagine you would need to fireform all the cases to your 44-77.

Again, 11mm Mauser and per your post on ASSRA, you have box brass

Thanks guys. I'll order some .43 Mauser dies to start with.
