I know I'm going to have to be careful not to hit any thing bigger than ribs with this.
The velocity means a flatter trajectory with that big flat nose.
250 yards max.

It's an older Savage 110 with a Shaw barrel 1 in 14 twist.
Had the barrel turned and blued by them with no threaded collar.
They didn't like doing that for me.
Boyds feather weight thumb hole.

How hard is that alloy? Composition?

Sounds like you have a nice rig and you have a good load worked up for hunting. Good luck this season!

The alloy is soft at about 10 to 11Bh.
The Powder coat can give better accuracy and velocity.

Thanks Gar10 be nice to even see one.

That’s a really nice group. Have you shot any into water jugs or similar to see what the boolit does?

Not yet. Thursday I'm going to the range after work and see what the drop is between 100 yards and 200.

I'd expect about 3 inches or so, maybe closer to four.

I have had this bullet about a year now. I do like it allot I bought it expressly for the 358 Win. But shoot more from My Maxis!! Hahaha. Quite a "SCHMACK" on target backer boards!!! I have found a couple respectable loads but nothing to light me afire.
I picked up a Lyman 358430 and the very first loads produced sub 1" groups!!! But its a 200 RN bullet!! Hahaha. Not as sexy but probably work just fine.

Like you I have been casting softer and softer and doing very well with them powder coated. I like Smokes clear too, But have been using Carolina Semi Gloss Metallic Chrome/ silver. The clear makes the lead "dead". While the Semi Gloss Silver looks more like cast lead! I get it from Jim Conditor22 here on the board too!

@ 2200 from 10/11BHN. Its gonna. ALL UP NO DOUBT!!! Id be sure ua got some tin in the alloy a d should be fine inside 200 on thin skinned deer. Its gonna loose some weight but @ 230g it shouldnt drop below 200 +. (My predictions)

My 200 grain HP group buy loaded at 2100 fps and sighted in 1" high at 100 yards drops 9" at 200 yards with my 20" barreled 336 35 Rem. I'm guessing your drops aren't going to be too far off from mine at a 175 fps gain. I can't get cast to reliably feed in my 7600 whelen or I'd be chomping at the bit with it right now. Water jug testing is way to hard of a medium compared to thin skinned game. I had perfect expansion in water filled jugs that never expanded on deer. Imo your better off picking up road kill to test on.

Gotta get one! My MP HP feeds fine in my 35 Rem 7600 but the range has been closed to try them out. My 336 load feeds perfectly in my 7600 35 Rem so I'm hoping it groups good enough to not work up a new load for it. I have up on the whelen and loaded a 180 grain hot core to the velocity of hornady super performance ammo. I have ot shooting all I the same hole at 100 yards. I was impressed for a pumper. Now I just need to get cast to feed and do the same.

I picked up a NOE 360-197 last month. It feeds in my Marlin 35 Rem and my 760 fine. Haven't tried in 358 or Whelen but assume it will be fine. Its a bulbous RN HP. Reminiscent of the 358430, but only one grease groove and slight longer nose.

I have a Saeco #352 coming and hoping that it's good too!! I wanted/want a RCBS 250, but they dont pop up much a d round here they never last long.

The 200 grain MP HP group buy is a winner in my 336 35 rem. Shot 2 groups in a row like this
I tried one 200 yard group that measured 2 3/4". Im Impressed for a lever gun.

OP, i would think you should be good to go with 10 to 11 BH alloy. I'm 10.4 bh using 50/50 coww and pure on my HP. It expands very easy at alot lower velocities in water jugs.

MaLar, I would be interested in hearing how these do if you shoot them into water jugs. I especially would like to see if you get over expansion and poor penetration at close ranges, say 10-25 yards. You are ahead of me here, but am working on the same boolit in my 358 win. I am hoping for 2100-2200 fps, and my alloy is just a touch harder than yours, I believe i am at 12 BHN. I was concerned that a close shot at a deer may be too explosive for what I want. I can easily add some pewter to bring it up a bit, but don't want to go too far in case of a longer shot. Most shots are under 80 yards, but if i go red tag hunting they will be more like 150+

Where I live close shots are really about 40 yards, closest I've had except for one time.
Most are around 100 plus but 450 is not out of the norm. I wasn't really looking for much expansion just don't hit a large bone. I was going to try milk jugs at 100 in the future. Could try some closer.

With that big flat point and the velocity I'm getting I think it doesn't really need to expand.
I'm going to set my max at 250 yards, now just need to calibrate my eye for that range?
I've been shooting softer because I don't need hard lead with PC.
And I have a bunch of Foundry type and Lino hoping to trade for more lead.
