Hello all,
I am looking to get a single stage press pretty soon for loading rifle stuff, but I also want to play with swaging and wildcatting a bit. Used my normal press (a lee turret) to swage down a few annealed 40 s&w brass with a 200 grn 38 cal bullet to 44 mag bullet. Landed at about 250 grn if I remember right, but I was just asking to break my press doing them.

So, my question is, here in 2020, what is the best press for both single stage brass sizing and swaging bullets? I have been thinking about a rockchucker or a new rcbs rebel, a redding big boss, or maybe even a Lee O press. What's the best option nowadays?

RCBS =
Rock Chuck Bullet Swage.

Get a brand New one. It'll handle just about anything short of .50BMG

The hated Lee outfit has a cast iron "O" press that also handles 50 BMG.
Everybody needs a 50 BMG.

RockChuckers are tough to beat unless you trip over a Big Max . The Rebel doesn't sound bad . It's no work at all to make 264 WM from 300 WM with the RC 7×57 is a simple 2 step from 06' even just tooling around with rejected 06' it's not hard to make it 308 with a stupid long neck . I have both an RC and RCII .

Lee Classic Cast or Rock Chucker. BT Sniper was making auto eject kits for both. But I believe he stopped making them for the RC. Personally I would buy one of his LCC kits and call it a day or spend the money on a large swage press.

The CH4D Champion press is made for swagging. CH4D makes basic swage dies for a relatively reasonable fee. They are not listed on the website, you have to contact them to see what they have in inventory. They are in handgun caliber bullets only. It can be a way to try out swagging to see if you like it.

The Lee 50 BMG and associated Lee presses may be able to handle it but the handle linkage can't very long. Broke three sets of linkage on the Lee 50 press then finally old it and bought a REAL 50 BMG press, the OWS ROCK CRUSHER!
