can't find retaining rings

Maybe someone can give me a heads up on where I can find these. They are used in the Hornady
45-70 seating die. Retaining ring #396430. I must have emailed a half dozen distributors looking for these. No luck. They keep the sliding alignment sleeve and seating stem from falling out. Anyone know where I might get a few? Thanks

My Hornady dies are pretty old. I just looked at my 9mm dies. Inside the plastic bag with the instructions is a spare spring thingy.

measure them up and check MSC Graingers and McMaster Carr. You will need thickness Inside and Outside dia. Draw back with them is you may have to take 100 of them.

Most dies (and other reloading tools) made today don't use proprietary parts such as screws, clips, retaining rings, etc.. I would take the die to a good hardware store and find a clip that works. A good store employee will recognize what will work and help you find it. Normally faster and easier than contacting a manufacturer, deciding which part you need (via phone or email) and wait for shipping...

We have a good Ace Hardware in our small town where I have been able to find dowel pins, lynch pins, roll pins, several different types of spring clips, different spring/lock washers, set screws and odd (metric and once a Whitworth) setscrews, bolts, nuts and washers...

These are not regular snap rings, they are wire bent in a circle with a hook on the end.

That does seem to be the right snap ring.

Those rings are used it some small engines. But looks like Midway is the easiest way to find one.
