Does anyone know of a reloading manual (or other reputable source) which list IMR 700x, for 45 Super?

I am in the nascent stages of a 45 Super experiment, and would like to see if I can get good results using the powder I currently have on-hand. According to both my Lyman 49th Edition, and Lee Second Edition manuals, my current load is well under the maximum pressure for standard 45 Auto, and the Super is supposed to run a good bit higher. I am tempted to simply add more powder, look for pressure signs, and measure my velocity (I am hoping to match factory 45 Super loads)

My current loading is 230 Grain or jacketed projectiles, propelled by 4.6grs of 700x. I intend to stick with those projectiles, for the time being.
The pistol is in the process of being modified to safely fire the more powerful round

Now you got my attention lol. I looked on Hodgens site no data. I'll check my library and get back.

Ok no luck. I checked my Lyman,Hornady,Lee and Speer.

You probably won't find any data anywhere as that is too fast a burn for full .45 Super loads... Something between UNIQUE and AAC-9 works best.

Longshot is what I have settled on...very easy to meet or exceed the velocities that Buffalo Bore lists for their loads...

That's what I was afraid of, looking at the burn-rate charts. I may have a lead on some Blue Dot, and at least one local pawn shop has a smattering of different powders on hand. It's unfortunate though; I have well over ten pounds of 700x.

It's not likely you will find 700x data for those higher pressures. It will never match what Bluedot, Longshot, etc. will do, so why bother.

Define “good” by your standards? It is likely you can equal any 45 ACP +p load and likely exceed it a bit given the higher pressure limit of the Super, and such may be enough for that and ACP equivalent. For easier on the gun and frequent use loads your stash of 700X may have utility.

Not all loadings should be firewalled. Pressure signs based on “reading” brass or primers are not relevant in autoloading pistol calibers of this type so don’t wait for them to show up as by the time they do you will have gone too far. Probably way too far.

I'd be happy right around 1100 FPS, if the accuracy is there. I still intend to load a good number of my standard rounds (the exact ratio will depend on how well I can handle the Super), and I have several other cartridges that I use 700x in, so it will get consumed eventually.

1100 with a 230 I would also be a bit leery of obtaining with 700X.

Are you using Starline 45 Super brass?

You are going to run into higher pressures than 45 Super trying to push a 230 grain bullet to 1100 fps with 700X. It's just too fast burning.

Power Pistol, Longshot, Blue Dot and AA#7 are the powders I've seen listed in 45 Super data.

I agree , For me , 700x is too fast burning

How about a 230gr boolit @ 1040-1077fps at SAAMI 45ACP standard pressure - without even getting into +P territory, let alone 45 Super

I used that powder with 200 and 230 grain bullets in a 625-3 revolver due to the velocities claimed back in the day. It is better with 230s than 200s as the lighter bullets gave occasional 200 fps velocity variations and those were easy to see which chamber fired the low velocity shot as it was full of unburned powder. Higher pressure is better for Enforcer.

Ahh, hadn't checked back in a while.
1. Yes, I am using Starline brass
2. Color me convinced, I'll be looking to find a good deal on a more appropriate powder.
3. That Enforcer powder looks quite interesting. Generating near-Super velocities at less than 20k PSI is difficult to believe, but if that is what the test equipment showed, who am I to argue.
At this point, the pistol runs 100% with standard 45 Auto, +P, and factory 45 Super (the latter two both being from Underwood). I intend to keep it in its' current configuration, so that it may safely digest a wider range of ammo, regardless of what pressure levels my handloads wind up operating at.
