Anybody know if any manufacturer still makes these? A co worker just inherited the revolver but needs a way to load ammo.

Greetings

I found this article on the the bobcat intresting..http://ps-2.kev009.com/ohlandl/310/357-44_Bain_Davis/Guns_Ammo_MAR_1979.pdf

you will have to look into the chambers to see if its cut to fit the round..or squared shouldered to use the plastic sleeves.

good luck finding the sleeves.

If it were mine i think i would have a new cylinder fitted.

hope it helps a bit

It's made for the sleeves. The owner bought it from the guy who invented it, used to have dies but loaned them to a guy to load ammo for him and they were never seen again. You know the story...
I can make him the sleeves on my lathe but would rather not have to make the dies.

I remember reading that when it came out, cool idea. Improvement on the Bain and Davis concept, or maybe a different take. Always wondered if you threw a 357 mag cylinder in a 30 carbine Blackhawk and made the sleeves... well you could make it even louder :)

Course, always wondered just how bad it would be if someone (idiot type) tried 44 mag in that bobcat, cause “they fit” !!!!!!

Do you know the material spec for the sleeves, assuming owner knows.

When I wanted 357-44 B&D dies, CH4D had 'em. If the ones you want are not in stock, it can take some time to get them, but call them first.
