Today was the day! I finally got the led pot fired up with some linotype lead that I obtained and started pouring some 00 buck with the Lee mold. Once everything was up to temperature, it went quite well. I didn't tumble the 00 buck too much yet because I was anxious to get a couple of shells together. The rest will be tumbling soon.

I am using a run of the mill Lee Precision II reloader and BPI load BKL1210224272
- 2 3/4" Fiocchi hulls.
- 24 grains of RedDot.
- PT1251 wad.
- 2 x 3 stack of my own 00 buckshot.
- 1/8" 20 gauge felt pad.
- Overshot card

The first crimp didn't go too well and I was unsure why. I found that I had not formed the 6 fold crease as deep as I should have. I peeled it back and reformed it and it crimped great.

These 2x6 00 buck loads are what I call "Girl" loads for my wife's Mossburg 500. being of smaller stature, I can't expect her to shoot 15 pellet 00 buck more than 1 time ever.

I was pleased with the end result.

may have to try that load for my wife, she did not like the 9 ball single ought I made but said she would use them if she had too.

Thanks.
I was concerned about crimping virgin shells. I have run several more and have had good results. I did have one that had a bit of a twist to it but was solid.

I always put an overshot card over my buckshot loads. Makes for a better crimp. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200803/705e62ec5e17d6440e1fc10adf2f9d94.jpg

I did use overshot cards. Not sure if they help at all but I used them.
These were from BPI and are white. In the future, I will spread some out and hit them with a misting of paint to color code them.

Even though they are Fiocchi hulls, they formed and crimped really nicely.
