Hello, Maybe someone posted this inquiry before. Has anyone delt with Lee Precision on a custom mold group buy before? I see they charge a $175 setup fee. Molds are the regular price, only $26.95 for a double cavity with handles. I need a larger diameter .316 diameter .303 British mold. Lee offers a C312-185-1R but it is too small. if there is any interest for 20 participants? Price would be less than $36 each not counting shipping. I know some folks including my self prefer Lyman type molds, but I am frugal. [My wife says CHEAP] Any input would be welcomed.

Hmmmm? 43 lookers and no comments. Must be no interest.

Cast Bullet Engineering offer a great range of boolits for the 303 without the setup costs. Without knowing what your rifle is, there are two factors to consider, boolits with long throats for rifles chambered for Mk6 ammo, and SMLE's and No.4's chambered for Mk7 rounds. I have a mould from them that castsd one of each.

I have used Lee 8mm bullets reduced to .316 to great.results. Need a heavy press. Also, paper patching to .316 or bigger is great to

Accurate will cut a mold to your specs, NOE has a 316299, Mountain molds has a design site that you can design and order. I need a .316-317 for a P14 myself, just hasn't bubbled up to a current project.

You guys are missing the point of my inquiry. I am aware of the other mold makers cutting larger custom molds for the .303 British. I just don't want to pay $150 to $200 for a 2 cavity mold! Lee molds work ok and the price of this mold is very reasonable. My reasoning is if I can get a mold for around $40 I can buy more gun stuff with the savings. I guess there are not 19 other folks who want an inexpensive adequate .303 Brit mold in.316 dia.

$50 to $80 from Accurate or NOE for 2 cavity. And you can have it in a week or two. Lee will take a few months to get set up. Im not talking down your idea.

NOE and Accurate are both about $90 for 2 cavity molds in their respective online price lists.

Lee now wants $250!
Will wave set up for 40 molds. I’ll pass. I “beagled” my Lee .312” 185. It actually was a .309”! And cast T 180gr. It was just a .303 (.312”) stamped .30-180 mold.
I’d get the NOE mold. I’ve been tickled with all I’ve bought from him.

I use this mold (C312-185-1R) and, with one coat of PC, they mesure .315. I size them from .309 to .315 and use them for everything. You could double coat your bullets.
