something is getting in my garden and eating bean buds and the zuccini flowers. the garden is fenced in (25 ft by 25 ft) the sides are overgrown with grass and i can't find the entrance. i have seen a groundhog around. i'll kill it if i get the chance. in the meantime is there something that i can spread or spray around the perimeter that might keep critters away?

Put 1/4 of a peanut butter sandwich in a trap for the squirrel.

I use a .177 pellet for mine.

If you gonna trap him ...go ahead and let him have a whole sandwich ...
Give him a good last meal !

If you trap him and release him across town put a little paint on him.
That way you can see how quickly he can find his way home.

If it happens at night, it is probably rats or mice. Rats can go through the mesh on squirrel traps.

What kind of fence? I also had problems with critters. Mainly rabbits and raccoons, but also squirrels and deer. I resorted to a fence made of cattle panels, lined 3 feet high with poultry netting, and added an electric fence to stop the 'coons from just climbing over and helping themselves to the sweetcorn.

Perhaps some type of insect is to blame? Try some Sevin dust on the plants.

Plant oregano and garlic around the edges of your garden.
