Hi all, I've been using the Tromix linear comp on my Ruger AR 450 Bushmaster and really like it, so I got one for my 7.62x39 AR Pistol.
I've been getting some erratic accuracy with most of my loads lately.
Tonight I pulled the comp apart to clean it and was very surprised at what I found.
The screw in insert somehow got compressed and pushed forward.

I'm thinking that maybe it wasn't heat treated correctly.

I emailed Tromix and they sent a return shipping label. Tony called to discuss it and offered a full refund. I shipped it back to them today.
I have another one of their linear comps on my 450 Bushmaster and love it.

I just bought a Kaw Valley for my 450 MSR. I HAVE A OLD Kaw on my 450 Ruger. I took a 5.7x28 and re threaded it to 11/16x24. I was worried as it was aluminum. But needent of as its digested 500 + so far and zero issues.

My stepson has recently purchased a .450 Bushmaster AR. Please tell me of the benefits of having a comp on the same.

For me a linear comp makes shooting more enjoyable. It takes away that nasty crack and redirects it away from the shooter.

CW is spot on, it redirects the muzzle blast and concussion away from the shooter.
With the standard muzzle brake it was loud and not pleasant to shoot. With the Tromix Linear Comp it isn't bad to shoot at all. I've used it on pigs without ear plugs and it wasn't too bad.
I would definitely recommend getting one for the 450.

On another note, I got a package from Tromix yesterday with a new comp with some design changes in it to see if I could break this one. They said they didn't have a 7.62x39 AR Pistol in house, so sent me one for free along with another insert just incase.
I put 100 rounds through it yesterday with no measurable change in the length of it.

Wanted to say thanks for posting this. I have not been able to find a compensator or flash hider in 35 cal that is threaded for 5/8 x 24. I need one for a 357 AR upper and it looks like this one fits the bill. I know you posted due to problems but I would have never looked at their site.

I ran some heavy loads with CFE BLK with no measureable changes, so I think that the new one will work well.
