yes it worked

literally took 5 minutes to make..most time was just spent picking out the right washer

shell holder is made from washer with slot cut out and bevel filed on edges to mate nicely with 45 acp case

would upgrade washer to be aluminum instead of steel to be slightly nicer to rim
would also upgrade scotch tape to duct tape

tried it with case that had bullet but no primer or powder..seemed to work gud

will next try it on fully loaded case

I am a bit concerned the pipe that hits is so short, it might subject the primer to more force than needed to eject the bullet. I think I will add an extension, and then instead of whacking a 2x4 I'll wak a piece of thin rubber on top of the 2x4. And I'll experiment with unprimed but bulleted cases to arrange thing so its using minimum force to get the bullet out.

I made one out of a hole drilled in a 2x4, and a washer slipped over a 38 spl case. Worked a half-dozen times before the wood split.

BTDT! I used a piece of duct tape over the case head to keep the cartridge in the "high tech" puller. BTW I have seen "C" or "E" spring slips used for holding a semi-auto case..

A 1/2" Sch.80 PVC pipe nipple will work to pull bullets from a 7mm mag. I was bored one day......

Consider using a conventional shell holder in your new puller, a case hardened steel holder will last much longer than aluminum.

If you want to save the bullets put a tuft of cotton or plastic foam in the bottom to pad them a bit.

That's soooo complicated. I just put the cartridge in its normal shell holder, slide the cartridge nose first into a convenient size deep socket from my socket wrench set (Spark plug sockets work especially well), and wack it on a hard surface (best with a paper plate or bowl to catch the powder).
