Saw one at my LGS. I’ve got 3 other 10mm pistols and enjoy the round but in a revolver, it really doesn’t do anything my 41 Mag doesn’t, but still intrigued me.

Anyone care to share their experience and or thoughts?

When I acquired a 10mm revolver (not a S&W 610) I quit using the .41 Magnum cartridge, because I felt the performance of the 10mm round fit better 'between' the .357 and the .44 Magnum. The .41 Magnum can indeed do anything the 10mm can do...but the .44 Magnum can do anything the .41 Magnum can do, and having one of the latter, I do not miss the former.

This is a totally subjective opinion based on my needs, my experience and my quirks. I would be dumbfounded if some others did not think differently.

I have several pre-lock 610's and would not give them up... The 3" is so much fun, the longer ones are great for hunting long range steel plates.

I have one with the lock. I've bought it "just because"; was interested in the cartridge but not so much in chasing brass, so revolver was a natural answer. Every screw on mine was loose for some reason. Mine is strictly range toy, so the fact that it's not up to 41Mag performance is irrelevant to me.

Don't get practical on us. You will eliminate about 95% of what most of us have in the safe :-(

I've got a 6" Model 610. It's just one of many 10mm handguns in my safes, so it doesn't get shot much anymore.

While I have many 10 mm handguns, I bought this 610 about 15 years ago on a whim. I was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed shooting this. To me it felt like a soft shooting 357, but not the anemia of a 38.

Don’t get me wrong, I love 38’s. The 610 just really hit that sweet spot for me since I don’t enjoy 44 mags anymore.

Ballistically, the .41 has the edge marginally, but the 10mm has the edge by a wide margin on components options. Plus, I can shoot my 10mm loads in my M610 and my 1911, too!

Those long range steel plates can be vicious so you've got to put them down quick! I don't have a 610, but they have always intrigued me. Another caliber.....

If you like 10mm I believe you would like the Smith. Could be more accurate than the autos and you can run 40 S&W in it for low power practice. I think it would hold it's own, when loaded to factory levels, with a 357 for hunting purposes.

I have a 6.5" barrel version from the original batch they made so no lock. I cast and load for 10mm and find this one shoots great and I enjoy it. cast a NOE 200 gr. WFN GC and a LBT 220 WFN GC and they both shoot great out of it.
