yep, i bought another two actions. (like i have nothing to do[smilie=l:) i'm already swamped, now i have to do two more. but its ok, i luv it.

the actions are 1898 springfield armory(1898 and 1902) and as soon i'm done sanding and finishing the 98 mauser and the 93 spanish mauser stocks, then i'll begin on them. since i already have a 1898 spr armory(bubbasized) in 30-40 krag, i'll do a 22 hornet and a 35/40 krag(35 krag).

now you can beat the bejeezus out of me, i already have a 95 chilean and another 93 spanish(2nd one) mauser actions that are left on my table. the 91 argentine and the 93 spanish(1st one) are at my gunsmiths place. the 98 mauser and the 93 spanish(1st one) stocks have been made(richard's gun stocks) and i am sanding them.

I have the same addiction. Luckily, there is no cure.

You're a busy guy! :D I just finished this one. It's probably the last Krag I'll do, and 2nd to last project I'll do. It's in .30-40 with a heavy barrel.

Nice Krag but you stopped too soon. I redid my sporter into a Krag Scout.

I like your darker stock. Looks good. I’ve been using birchwood caseys military rust red stain for my milsurp stock rebuilds. It’s water based and the first couple of coats look terrible but eventually the stock evens out and it looks nice. Here’s my latest, a 1924 Model 52 Winchester .22. Shoots great. Recut the sanded grasping grooves on my mini mill too.

I love this addiction too.
But it is time for me to start cutting back a bit , so I have been selling off all the Safe Queen's that have been finished for years as well as spare parts that I have and don't have room to buy another action to build that model of rifle.
Plus I got back into building Muzzleloaders

I have 4 of the S&K no drill mounts on some of the Mil Surps.
They work great with the right scope.
I haven't had a chance to try any of the other S&K mounts

I just tell myself that there'll be some happy rifle builders at my estate auction! I've got at least a dozen actions that "I'll do something with that someday". Mausers, Krags, Winchester, Borchardt, Stevens and Ballard single-shots.......

I'm doing 'em a service, I am.

Don’t we all but since my retirement I have dusted the cobwebs off a bunch and actually finished a few. My Boyds restock on my heinz Garand, a restock of my salt Browning T-bolt, completion of my sbr’ed Thompson and a case, a restart of my 1917 dummy Browning and my ‘03 rifle builds. You know what Chief Dan George told Josey that the secretary of the interior told him, ‘to endeavor to persevere.’

Seems I'm in good company. have a drawer with 1891 Argy,95 Chilean, I lone Moisin Nagant action, couple 98 Mausers, and a Siamese plus a Win Model 54 action originally set up as a 30-30. Many of the 1891's and 1895's were some of bubba's handiwork but he left the actions alone. One of the 1895's actually had a barrel shortened with a pipe cutter as you can see the roller marks on the barrel. And almost forgot the Win 1917 action and the P14 action. Frank
