Some modifications I made to my Lee hardness testers to make use easier and more consistent.
I mounted a dial indicator on the tester so I would have the exact pressure each time. I mounted the scope into a childs microscope [ I coud not hold it steady enough to count the scale lines] which gives me complete and easy control over focus and frees up both hands to position boolit under scope.

What a neat set up!! At 61 my Lee tester has proven to be a challenge to use. I've found that when held still, it will give very accurate readings. I'm off to hobby lobby!! Thanks for sharing such a neat idea. In my mind one of the best tips of 08. As your reward, with everything being like it is, you have gained my respect and friendship. Won't buy a cup of Joe but has a longer lasting effect.

Excellent!!
My problem is turning round and round in the gun room to get good enough light in the scale and by the time I do the scale is off somewhere else but the 'dimple'.

I am at a almost total lack for words...which is a rare thing for me.

WOW What a great idea. Like others have said, I'm off to find a childs microscope today. Maybe Harbor freight??
