Bought some ammo from a vendor at a local gun show. Was hoping someone here could tell me more about it. Most of the rounds are stamped with 'LC 14' but some are stamped 'LC 12', with what I suppose is a NATO cross, and random amounts of small circles. From what I gather, LC stands for Lake City, the two numbers are the year.

That would be M855 62 grain NATO. You are correct LC is Lake City and the 14 is 2014.

Actually, that is M855A1 ammunition. M855 has a green tip; the 855A1 is the 'new-and-improved' version. It wears upper receivers with M4-style feedramps, as well as barrels out a bit faster than standard cup and core bullets do.

That's the down side to being color blind. Shot a lot of the m855 but I've never seen the M855A1. Thanks for the correction.

The little "dots" or circles on the headstamp tells the story of which equipment line was used to manufacture the round.
