My first thread on this forum.

Reaching out to any Dance .36 revolver aficionados for additional information. About 6 months ago I acquired a Pietta Dance Firearms Co. Revolver .36 caliber BH/1996 SN C00013 from the collection of Dr. Jim L. Davis, Claremore OK (RPRCA). Dr. Davis passed last September and sold most or all of his collection to October Country (Idaho).

It is one of only 35 revolvers marked Angleton Texas on the barrel. These guns were commissioned by Tony Gajewski of Southwest Muzzle Loaders Supply (SMLS), Angleton Texas and produced by Pietta for only one year with a few variations.

I believe Tony was also involved with the Uberti production of similar revolvers in 1985, also a one-year run.

I am casting about (pun intended) for any info you folks may have about these guns. I have a thread about the replica Dance revolvers below, and appreciate any input:

Thanks in advance!

Mine's a .44, chambers 0.446" diameter x 1.1" deep.
Was just thinking today about trying something in it besides round ball.

I have number 7
It’s a shame these didn’t have the correct, round, trigger guard. Mine does now……

Only thing to worry about with those guns is with no recoil shield if you have a chain fire you will likely have percussion caps flying towards your face.

FYI........ Jim (sourdough) Passed away last year. I can't remember the exact date.
Jim was a wealth of information on black powder replica revolvers.
Jim, and his knowledge are missed on all the black powder forums.

Sorry to hear about Jim. My condolences.

Like Maillemaker Steve, I am hesitant to buy and shoot one of these due to a lack of a recoil shield. Not only cap fragments flying, but a little jet of fire to go with it.

I wonder if anyone here has gone through that experience, with this model.
