But during those 36 years I've been to 44 states, working in 33 of them plus a couple of Canadian provinces, Mexico, Puerto Rico and China.

A couple of times I got up in the middle of the night to look at the airplane ticket to figure out where I was.

*Named after Abraham Maybee in 1873, still have the beard I started in 1973, to raise money for the centennial celebration you had to buy a shaving permit or raise a beard. If you got caught without a permit and clean shaven you were subject to mock arrest. To get out of "jail" you had pay a fine.

Oklahoma might be good for you. It has been for me. Would have been better if I'd gotten some land out of town a ways, but I can't really complain. Cost of living is relatively low, particularly compared to SoCal where I mostly grew up. Talk Bookworm, too, he's lived here quite a while.
