i saw a old post about this but it was from 3 years ago and i was looking to see what you guys think about this one.

So i was looking at the Arsenal 311-170 mold for 30-30 as it looks like it should fit just good as my Lee 312-185 wont fit with out being stuck super deep into the case, witch isnt to bad, its about as far into the case as it will be in 30-06 and i was thinking about just trimming my brass back some to have a 30-06 length neck so i could use the crimp grove on the 311-185

how ever i was looking at the Lee C312-155-2R and i was wondering how that one works in 30-30 and other 30 cal rifles.

I have us t Lee C312-155 2R in 300 BO, .308, and 30-06, sized to .310. I use the Lee 309-150 RF for 30-30 as my Wife's 30-30 is a tube fed lever gun, requiring a flat nose. I should have bought the 309-170 RF but the 150 was on sale for like 12 bucks.

The Lee 309-150 or the 309-170 are both great boolits in 30 cal rifles. Both of those boolits work well in my 30-30 lever gun. Not sure of you have a tube fed lever in 30-30 or not but if you have a single shot or mag fed 30-30 then I would think a load could be developed for the 312-155 sized to .310 or .311 using a variety of powders. The wonderful thing about the 30-30 (at least in my rifle) is it seems to like boolits from 90 to 190 grain equally well. Let us know what you sort out.

my 30-30 is a old Stevens 325B so i luckly can use spitzer bullets in mine.

Both the C309150F and the C309170F have shot more accurately than the C312155 from my bolt action 30-30. That’s a bonus because they are hunting bullets.

I cast and PC the Lee 312-160-2R for a friends BlackOut and it works great for his rifle. The best boolit/load I have so far in a 30-06 bolt rifle is the 309-170-F sized to .311 over a dose of 4227. I didn’t have great success with the 312-160 in the same gun - it wasn’t “terrible” it just wasn’t MOA like the 309-170 is  I suspect if I’d have experimented with it long enough I’d have found an acceptable load. I just didn’t take the time because I stumbled on a winner with the Flat Point and have stuck with that.
