I have an old Rem. 870 Express that has been painted camo, I'm in the process of re-finishing the wood now. But, the barrel and receiver - is there a way to remove the paint WITHOUT also removing the bluing? I'm open to your suggestions.....

Lacquer Thinner.
Paint strippers will not Remove the Bluing, but they may dull a polished finish.

Ordinary actone or Strypeze should remove it. Strypeze has 4 or 5 different chemicals that attack paint.

Anything that will strip paint without a really strong odor? That stuff always gives me headaches no matter how well I try to keep it vented. I have a few objects I need to strip the paint on that I've purchased over the years.

If you want good paint stripper, find an aircraft paint shop, take a gallon jug and ask to buy some. They use it by the drum. The consumer grade "aircraft" strippers are ok, the commercial grade strippers with take any paint or epoxy off.
