I have an RCBS RS(Reloader Special) press with no handle. RCBS said I would have to send them the piece that it screws into and they could make one. It appears that the fine threads on the handle need to be 9/16". My best measurement with a caliper confirms the 9/16". I have tried 1/2" and 5/8" handles from other presses and that attempt points to 9/16" also. I can probably find a bolt locally with the proper thread so that I can come up with the proper designation for diameter and pitch. Shouldn't somebody have these handles on the shelf somewhere? Any ideas?

Do you know any machinists or small machine shop owners? It wouldn't be a big deal to make one.

The handles are easy to make. Take a piece of 5/8" drill rod, cut to your desired length, turn in lathe for 9/16" stud, cut threads using lathe or large die. Takes about 20 minutes.

That said, I need a stud and handle for an A model RCBS press. Any one have a spare??

My RCBS press I bought used had a piece of 1/2" pipe with a bolt welded on the end. It works even if it will never been shown on the front page of a catalog.

Machinist son-in-law made a handle out of the shaft from a hydraulic (smile) cylinder.
