I saw Sig of Germany has gone bankrupt
Sig here in the USA is separate
Both were owned by the same parent company

But I wonder if my Sig 229 will go up in value ?
It is in 40 S&W and I keep thinking of getting a 9 mm barrel
As I have several 5 gallon buckets of 9 mm brass
Also I find the 9 mm easier to shoot , as it has less recoil

Depends upon to what extent US operation is dependent upon German-made parts and if the parent company intends to move parts production here. If pipeline for spare parts dries up so that guns can no longer be serviced or repaired your 226s and 229s will become expensive paper weights like the P230s they will no longer fix.

Bankrupt does not mean out of business. Did they file for bankruptcy so they can reorganize and restructure debt? I’m sure Germany has something similar to Chapter 11 like we have. And at the end of the day someone will buy their IP. Same name, new owners.
