263298I was surprised that my 9mm reloads, using lee 126 LRN an 4.5 g Unique, showed pass through! Shooting at 30’ some of the cast boolits passed through an a few were captured. 263296263297

I know what you mean. I was shocked when my 30 WCF loaded with Ranch Dog 311165's punched holes through a 3/8" thick steel plate. I was used to seeing my other boolits shatter. These had a bhn of 22 when I cast them. I guess they got much harder.

My cast run hard at 19 plus BHN. Most of my lead is from reclaimed bird shot, recovered from my clubs Turkey shoot range.

I can see that happening with the grain on a fast growth pine tree. Across the grain will probably stop cast if you shoot through the thicker diameter. It will sure eat it up fast. I shot and still do shoot into white oak with the grain. They'll last many years even shooting jacketed rifle magnum loads.

The other result of this testing is knowing which tree to hide behind!
