Ok, Heres an interesting one that I found in a pile of papers from an oldtimer I got a ton of stuff from. Its a Explosives permit that you needed to purchase components during the war and also a letter of explanation from Belding & Mull about it. Has anyone ever seen one of these??? I cant find anything about it at all. Looks loke something Obama would do.LOL.

While I don't have any specific information on this, I would guess it was a result of all the concern about sabotage. What amazes me is that anyone could get reloading components at all. It's tough to get some things now with a much smaller war. Between our ammo usage and what we gave to allies, there couldn't have been a lot left for private purchase.

I have tons or paperwork and reciepts from this gentleman and even the postcards that companies sent out to tell a customer if stuff was in stock or not. Most of the stuff he ordered during the war was out of stock with a 6 month backorder for something as simple as primers and bullets. I guess that why he gave me a couple hundred boxes of primers.LOL. He must have stocked up when he was able to thinking it was going to be a while before he could get them again.
