Has anyone bought 410 dies for standard 7/8” thread of rifle press? Thinking about buying a set. I guess all they really do is resize brass and re crimp.

I am using my universal decapper and my 7.62X54R sizing die to gently resize the case and turn a small crimp on the mouth of the case.

That could be a nice project for someone with the ability to do steel work , a 3 die set would make me pull out my old Lee 3 hole turret press . Size die , precrimp die , final crimp die - just deprime and prime off press .

I would have to look it up, but I think it was a 45 colt sizing die that works perfect with .410.

Any shotgun die sets I have seen for sale, used, were more than you could get a used MEC press for. A 3-die set for around $50 would sell like hot cakes.

O yes I would love to have a 3 die set that screws into a regular press the precrimp and final crimp die could be made to be adjustable 2 1/2 or 3 inch just like a seating die . Lee could be all over this with a limited run every year or so .

I would just want a sizing die. But they would make money on a three die set from me.

You can use pretty much any of the 45 pistol dies for sizing , IF , the case can pass through .
Turn a rod for any of the universal decapping dies , then you just have to get that 209 out through the Colts or 45 S&W shell holder . Then you have to get it back in .
Crimp can be started manually but roll crimp is so much easier .

In the end this is why we like brass 410s .
9.3-74 is still cheaper that 410 cases and is almost full camber length in a 3" . 2.75 I think .
460 brass is only 1.8 .
303 B is 2.1
30-40 Krag comes out 2.15
444 Marlin .

I use an old rcbs 45acp sizer die ( the early one that only sized ) for sizing 444Marlin brass. I suppose it would work for plastic shells as well.

Here is some in either 2.5 or 3". They are like the Lee whack a mole I believe.

The set I herd about was a two die set, G&H maybe? It has 7/8” threads. Made for plastic hulls. I think Lee had a 410 loader at one time. With the new interest in 410s you would think they would make their Load All in 410. I don’t load shot shells but I do have a 12g load all and a roll crimp for drill press. I only have used it to make some super turkey loads and such but it doesn’t do bad for a cheap outfit.

I've only seen 7/8 NC 12ga dies by RCBS and I think a 20ga set but $$$. Never heard of the smaller gauges.

You might want to check C&H dies out.

Just got off the phone with Denny. They are out of stock at the moment but a run is schedualed for December, this year. Go ahead and place a back order now for this year's stocking stuffer for yourself. If you miss this production run which will be orders pending and what they believe i'll get them through two years of sales based on previous SWAG, once they decide to make another run it will be a 24 month wait in the que.

2 die set (FL sizer and seater) $110.
Shell holder (Does not specify rim dia. $11.68
