I bought a Ruger 44/77 from a member here to replace a couple og 44 rifles I lost in Hurricane Katrina.
I shot some full power 240gr ammo through it and it has a lot of recoil even with a muzzle brake!
I swaged some 40-180 boolits to 44 and plan to load them to about 1200 fps, if I like the way they shoot I will be looking for a mold.
The only mold I found is a Magma 2 cavity at $100!
It will fit my master caster but I hate to spend the $ since I am not working and expect to be that way for a while with the Corona craziness.
Any other 180-44s out there?

I dont know if this is what you are looking for, but I have this one and you can make flat point (and 3 different HP, penta, deep HP, short HP).

Accurate 43-206H is the lightweight bullet I use.

Load 6 grains of Bullseye in the .44-40, and .44 Special and 7.5 grains in the .44 Magnum.

These are "full-charge" loads in the .44-40 and .44 Special, and approximate .44-40 rifle levels in the .44 Magnum, being pleasant, accurate and effective.

I swaged some 40-180’s into 44-180 FP HP , powder coated them and loaded them up with 22gr of 2400 , boy do they shoot sweet!
I ordered a Magma mold to use in my Master Caster and should have it tomorrow!

I got a mold from Magma , not much for driving bands! I will cast a couple hundred and give them a try!
