Just bought a Springfield 45,,1911
Noticed it is lefthand twisted,,
Is this common in springfields?

I think it's common for most 1911s.

It is on my Gold Cup also.
I'd heard John Browning did them that way so the recoil would make it torque into your hand instead of away from it.
(for right handed shooters)

Interesting and if factual ... ol Saml was even sharper then I thought.

For a while, springfield was not pinning their ejectors in place. You might want to have that done at some point, and springfield will do it for free if you ever need to send it in. The pin goes through the frame through the front leg of extractor from the groove on the frame rail.
