Just wondering if anyone on the forum has seen this barrel band before and recalls which rifle it belongs on. Thanks in advance.

I'm not going to be much help but it looks to me like it's not military. I would looks to pre-WWII "boys rifles". Savage, Marlin, Stevens... dressed to look somewhat military. Take a look at a Savage 19A.

Looked for 'Savage Model 19A'

Among the things that came up was this from a place selling parts for them.
This is a middle band for one they want $31. for.

If it was floating around,,,,, it might be left over from someone making a 'rabbit pistol'
That was the fate of lots of .22 rifles that had the barrels cut off to about 6",
and the stock chopped off a few inches behind the trigger.

They were popular back in the 50's.

It turned out to be a Reinforcing band for Thompson M1A1 front grip. Thanks for the help.
