You know, I’ve been experimenting with cast boolits, and have come to the conclusion that I can just use the chamber for sizing. I use the largest sizer available and shoot it. Works for me.

I do the same where and when I can , I will size if needed in some calibers or firearms for fit , or if I get better accuracy .
Have had some molds cut to smaller then usual dimensions as when powder coating .

I never sized my pistol bullets (they were all from Lee molds). Cast and pan lubed. If I ever cast for pistols again it will be powder coat instead. Will get a mold sized appropriately so I don't have to use a sizer on them either.

I started casting and pan lubed as I didn't have Lyman 450 yet, shot as cast. My first mold was a Lee 356-125 2R which drops at .358, they loaded and shot fine. I later got a .357 and a 45 ACP and a Lyman 450, sized to .358 and .452, all was good. Now I PC everything and bought push through sizers. Lyman 450 has considerable use, little wear, but was cleaned out by baking in the oven in a pan with soapy water, and put away very clean in the worn 35 year old box.

I did that with pistol ammo for a couple years before I got a sizer.

I figured the first 1/8" or so of the barrel would size it down just right.
They all held to within One Minute of soda pop can.

I've only sized bullets I was putting gas checks on... of course, I do size a 32cal jacketed bullet to fit my worn bore 30-30, otherwise it would not chamber.

I also shoot what fits. If it will chamber it gets shot.
