I went out to the hunting lease yesterday, a lot of the guys were out there. They made me feel guilty cause I hadn’t been hunting so I got the only rifle I had along, a CZ-550. Sat there in the dark waiting for something to come along. Lo and behold, along came a coon.

I lowered the boom, and he was dead, dead, dead! I was using a NOE 293 gas check ahead of some 4198. Works good, made a nice hole, didn’t break up or anything. Got to try that one again.

What is in season in May other than prairie dogs and coyotes? Never feel guilty whether you hunt or don't hunt but use your time the way you want and/or need to. Guilt will rob you of the enjoyment of why you hunt in the first place. Hunt because you want to and then you will want to when you hunt.

I live in Florida now. Got to make the changes to my profile. Florida is wonderful, we can hunt hogs, coons and coyotes year around. The cast boolit works just great, holds together, not overly destructive on a 20 lb coon.
